Stephen Ministry
"Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ." -Galatians 6:2
Stephen Ministry provides a compassionate, confidential support system for those facing life's challenges. Trained Stephen Ministers offer one-on-one, personalized care, listening, and encouragement to individuals experiencing difficulties such as grief, illness, or relationship issues, to name a few. Rooted in Christian principles, our Stephen Ministers are dedicated to walking alongside those in need, offering hope and healing through empathetic presence and prayer. This ministry reflects our commitment to fostering a caring community and supporting each other through life's ups and downs.
Stephen ministers typically meet weekly in one-on-one private meetings.
Need for volunteers: There is a continuing need for Stephen ministers. Stephen ministers attend a formal training process that typically takes 18 weeks with in-person meetings one night a week at the Valley Creek campus. The next training is planned to start in January 2025.

Celebrate Recovery
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." -2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Celebrate Recovery offers a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals seeking healing from life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This Christ-centered recovery program provides a structured path to overcoming struggles such as addiction, depression, and relational issues. Through weekly large-group meetings, small-group discussions, and step studies, participants find strength and encouragement from a community of peers and trained leaders. Celebrate Recovery empowers individuals to experience transformation and find hope through faith, fellowship, and the application of biblical principles, reflecting our commitment to holistic healing and personal growth.
Meetings are normally held on Thursdays at 6:30 pm at the Valley Creek Campus and are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Disability Ministry

Disability Ministry is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities and their families. We strive to ensure that everyone has access to worship, fellowship, and community activities through tailored accommodations and personalized support. Our ministry offers resources and opportunities for meaningful participation, reflecting our belief that every person is valued and created in the image of God. By fostering an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding, we aim to empower individuals with disabilities to fully engage in the life of our church and experience the love and grace of Christ
Activities normally occur on Sundays at 9 am at the Valley Creek campus. In addition, there are normally quarterly events.

Sunday School Buddies
Sunday School Buddies are one-to-one pairings within a WLCKids small group for students who need accommodations because of learning disabilities, physical limitations, or behavioral struggles. Faith & Friends + Bible & Friends
Faith & Friends is a Bible study for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities that meets at our Valley Creek Campus on Sundays at 9am in the Isaiah Room. We enjoy singing, prayer, small group time, and activities...all focused on learning more about Jesus. All ability levels and aides are welcome to join us!

Hearts and Hands

Prayer Chain
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” -James 5:16b
We believe in the power of prayer and the strength found in our community. Our Prayer Chain Ministry is a dedicated group of members committed to lifting up the needs of our congregation and our wider community in prayer. When a prayer request is submitted, it is shared with this caring network, who join together in regular intercession. Whether you’re facing personal struggles, celebrating a joy, or have a concern for others, our Prayer Chain Ministry is here to support you through prayer. Communications for the prayer chain are managed remotely to support prayer requests as they come in. There are no in-person meetings.
If you would like to join this ministry or have a prayer request to share, please contact us. To share your prayer requests, fill out the prayer request form below. Prayer requests can be shared with the prayer chain or kept confidential, according to your selection on the prayer request form. Additionally, you may share your request directly with your campus pastor or with the Care Pastor, Pastor Tim Marshall.
Pastoral Care Assistants (assists with visitation)

Pastoral Care Assistants play a vital role in extending compassionate support to our congregation. These dedicated volunteers, trained under pastoral guidance, assist with a range of care activities, including visiting the sick, providing emotional support, and helping with prayer requests. Their commitment enriches our ministry by ensuring that every member feels valued and supported. Through their thoughtful presence and active listening, Pastoral Care Assistants embody Christ’s love and care, helping to strengthen our church community and providing a reassuring touch of comfort and encouragement to those in need.
Pastoral care assistants meet for training purposes as needed. Those participating in the ministry would set up meetings with their Pastoral Care Assistant.

Telecare Ministry

Telecare Ministry plays a crucial role in fostering connections with all members of our congregation. Through regular phone calls, our dedicated volunteers reach out to provide spiritual support, check in on well-being, and offer encouragement to everyone, regardless of their ability to attend services in person. This ministry ensures that every member feels valued and connected to our church community, strengthening bonds and sharing Christ's love through personal conversations and prayer. By maintaining these important connections, the Telecare Ministry supports our commitment to a caring and inclusive church family.
Communications and assignments for telecare are managed remotely to support ministry needs as they come in. There are no regular in-person meetings. Meetings for training purposes are held as needed.

Prayer Encouragers

We are blessed to have a team of dedicated Prayer Encouragers who offer heartfelt support and prayer following our worship services. If you find yourself in need of prayer, whether for personal challenges, celebrations, or guidance, our Prayer Encouragers are available to stand with you in prayer and provide spiritual encouragement. They are here to listen, offer comfort, and lift your needs to God in a caring and confidential manner. After each service, simply approach a Prayer Encourager in the designated area, and they will be honored to pray with you. Your concerns are important to us, and we are committed to walking alongside you in faith and support. We are always seeking volunteers to serve as a Prayer Encourager, so please reach out to your campus pastor for more information.
Prayer encouragers are available at the end of each church service on all three WLC campuses.

Crossroads Connections, Job Transition Ministry

Crossroads Connection Ministry is dedicated to supporting individuals in their job search journey. This vibrant employment group provides a compassionate and encouraging environment for those seeking new opportunities or career transitions. Through regular meetings, members share resources, offer practical advice, and provide emotional support to help navigate the challenges of job searching. Whether you’re updating your resume, preparing for interviews, or simply seeking encouragement, Crossroads Connection is here to assist you. Join us to connect with others in similar situations, gain valuable insights, and find the support you need as you explore your next career path.
Meetings are normally held monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 7 pm at the Valley Creek campus. Meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Grief Support Class
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” -Psalm 34:18
Losing a loved one is never easy, and often even harder to process on our own. Our 8-week Grief Support Class is designed to offer compassionate assistance to individuals navigating the difficult journey of losing a loved one. This video and scripture-based program provides a safe and supportive environment where participants can process their grief, share their experiences, and find comfort through guided discussions and resources. Each week, we explore different aspects of grief, offer practical coping strategies, and build a community of support. This class aims to help you understand your emotions, find hope, and begin the healing process with the encouragement and companionship of others who are familiar with your pain.
A grief support class typically meets once per week for 8 weeks at the Valley Creek campus. They are scheduled 2 – 3 times yearly. The next class is planned for October 1-November 19. Meetings times will be publicized through WLC announcements and are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Healing Service (on demand)
“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” -Psalm 147:3
Our Healing Service is a special gathering designed to offer comfort and support to those in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Through communal prayer, anointing, and the support of our caring community, we come together to uplift and encourage one another, seeking the healing hand of God to rest upon those seeking healing.
Healings services will be arranged by each campus pastor.
