Jesus-Centered Experiences For Every Age

Faith isn’t just for adults—kids and students are part of what God is doing right now! From preschool to WLCkids to WLCyouth, we provide safe, fun, and Jesus-centered spaces where children and students can grow in faith, build real friendships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus every day.

WLCkids Sundays

At WLC, we believe kids aren’t just the future of the church—they’re part of what God is doing right now. WLCkids is our Sunday morning experience for children ages 3 through 5th grade. We create safe, fun, Jesus-centered environments where every child is loved, seen, and known—places where kids can explore faith, build friendships, and begin to live the Disciple [LIFE].

  • Engaging, age-appropriate teaching that helps kids know God’s love and truth
  • Consistent, loving leaders who show up weekly and care deeply
  • Hands-on activities and worship that keep kids moving and thinking
  • Practical support and resources that help parents lead faith at home
  • Sunday mornings during the 9am service at our Woodbury, Stillwater, and South St. Paul campuses, and 10:30am at the Woodbury and Stillwater campuses
  • Programming available for PreK–5th grade
  • Nursery care for infants–3 years (see below for details)
  • Check-in opens 15 minutes before service
  • All volunteers are background-checked and trained
  • We use a secure check-in/check-out system
  • You’ll get a unique parent tag—no one gets your child but you
Depending on where you walk in, you might see the WLCkids Check-In stations right away—or you might not. If you’re unsure where to go, just stop by the Connection Center in the lobby. Our team will make sure you get where you need to be. We’ll walk you through check-in, introduce you to a few friendly faces, and help your kids feel right at home.

Throughout the year, kids and families have opportunities to deepen friendships, explore God’s love, and grow in faith through WLCkids events, Bible learning, and hands-on activities. It’s all designed to help kids discover who Jesus is, connect with others, and build a faith that lasts.

  • VBS: A high-energy summer experience at all campuses where kids explore God’s Word, build friendships, and grow in faith.
  • Family Events: Opportunities for kids and parents to connect, play, and experience God together in creative, engaging ways.
  • Family Serving Opportunities: Kids and parents serve side by side, learning to love others and put faith into action.

Faith Milestones within WLCkids mark key moments as your child grows—helping families intentionally point kids to Jesus through each season of life.

  • 3-Year-Old Bibles: We value Truth! Annually 3-year-olds receive an easy-to-read, picture-guided Bible to kick off their discovery of God’s Word. These Bibles are a great way to start a daily rhythm of reading Scripture together as a family.
  • Bible University (2nd Grade): As students grow in reading confidence, our Bible University class helps 2nd graders learn how to use their Bibles. Each student receives a full-text Bible and Bible tools to aid in their Scripture reading.
  • First Communion: Students in 6th grade and older are invited to a 4-week, hands-on course each spring during Lent to explore the Sacrament of Communion. The experience includes a meaningful Seder meal and culminates in First Communion on Maundy Thursday. Our NextGen and Pastoral teams guide students and parents through core faith foundations like forgiveness, grace, sin, and salvation.

Baptism is for all ages, and we’d love to connect with you! Parents of infants and youth are invited to a monthly online class where you can explore the meaning of Baptism and discover simple, meaningful ways to nurture faith at home. Fill out our Baptism Form to start the process and learn more about Baptism at Woodbury Lutheran.

We provide loving care for infants through 3 years old in a safe, nurturing environment while parents worship.

WLCyouth Wednesdays

We’re investing in the next generation—helping students discover who they are in Jesus and why it matters now. WLCyouth meets Wednesday nights from 6:30-8pm at all campuses and it’s where students can grow in faith, build real relationships, ask honest questions, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life. Whether your student is brand new or has grown up at WLC, we want them to know: they belong here.

Middle and High School students gather for fun games and activities, large-group worship, teaching, and small group time—all built to help students take the next step in their faith in a way that’s real, relevant, and rooted in Jesus.
  • When: Wednesdays during the school year 6:30–8:00pm
  • Where: All Campuses
We’d love to help you and your student feel at home. When you arrive, look for WLCyouth signs. One of our team members will be there to walk you through where to go and get your student connected.

Throughout the year, students have opportunities to build deeper friendships and stretch their faith through events, mission experiences, serve opportunities, and special events. It’s all designed to help them discover their identity in Jesus and build a faith that lasts.

  • Middle & High School Mission Experiences
  • Summer Bible Studies
  • Serving Opportunities
  • Events for Middle School, High School, and All Together!

We believe in marking key steps in a student’s faith journey—like First Communion and Confirmation.

  • First Communion is when a student (typically 6th grade and up) receives the Lord’s Supper (bread and wine or juice) for the first time, understanding what it means and why it matters.
  • Confirmation is family-paced journey for students (grades 7–12) to step into an intentional time (roughly 1 year long) of exploring what they believe and why—preparing to take personal ownership of their faith in Jesus.
  • Graduation: Stepping into life after high school brings excitement and questions. We celebrate our graduates with a meaningful moment to reflect, pray, and stay connected to their WLC community—reminding them they are prayed for, supported, and always have a home here.

We’re here to support you, whether your student is ready to take Communion or beginning Confirmation. We will walk alongside your family every step of the way. Have questions or want to get started? Send us an email at NextGen@WLC.Church.

For students who haven’t yet been baptized, this is a meaningful step in publicly declaring their faith in Jesus. Interested in learning more about baptism? Contact us at NextGen@WLC.Church.
