FAQs

About WLC

We know visiting a church can feel like a big step—so here’s the bottom line: At Woodbury Lutheran, you’ll find a place where you’re welcomed, encouraged, and invited into something meaningful. We’re real people, figuring out faith and life together—and we’d love to meet you.

Do I need to be Lutheran to come?2026-01-07T16:45:09-06:00

Nope. You don’t need to be anything. Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or you’re just checking things out, you’re welcome here.

What should I wear?2026-01-07T16:44:35-06:00

Whatever you’re comfortable in. Some people dress up a bit, others come in jeans and a t-shirt. You’ll fit right in either way.

How long is a worship service?2026-01-07T16:43:57-06:00

Around 60 minutes. We sing, pray, hear from God’s Word, and reflect on what it means for real life.

What are your music and messages like?2026-01-07T16:43:15-06:00

You’ll hear a mix of modern worship songs and timeless hymns. Our worship is meaningful, engaging, and focused on Jesus. Our teaching is Bible-based, honest, and connects to real life. Whether you’re exploring faith or have followed Jesus for years, you’ll walk away challenged and encouraged.

What do I do when I arrive?2026-01-08T09:18:48-06:00

Start at the Connection Center in the lobby—you can’t miss it! Friendly volunteers are there to answer questions, help you find your way, and make you feel at home.

Nametags: We use nametags on Sundays to help everyone feel seen and known. Swing by and we’ll print one for you!

Kids Check-In: Have little ones? Our team will help you check in your kids (infant–5th grade) and find their classrooms.

Next Steps: Want to learn more about WLC, ask a question, or take a next step? We’d love to help. Get in touch with us here.

What about my kids?2026-01-08T08:26:57-06:00

WLCkids is safe, fun, and built just for them! During the school year, kids enjoy age-based teaching during worship. In summer, families worship together—with tools to help kids engage in the service.

WLCyouth is where middle and high schoolers connect. Youth meet on Wednesday nights and host fun events throughout the year—creating space to ask questions, grow in faith, and build real friendships.

How do you celebrate communion?2026-01-07T16:41:09-06:00

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. We believe Jesus’ body and blood are truly present in the bread and wine, giving the gift of forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith to those who believe. Baptized followers of Jesus are invited to participate; those who are still exploring the Christian faith are invited to come forward for a blessing.

What’s the culture like at WLC?2026-01-07T16:40:37-06:00

We’re Bible-based, Jesus-focused, and passionately generous. We’re a large church, but we work hard to feel like a small one—because relationships matter. We lead with grace and truth, we take our mission seriously (but not ourselves), and we believe the hope we have in Jesus is too good not to share!

What locations do you have?2026-01-07T16:40:05-06:00

We’re one church across multiple locations in the Twin Cities:

  • Valley Creek Campus | Woodbury, MN
  • Oak Hill Campus | Stillwater, MN
  • Wakota Ridge Campus | South St. Paul
  • Online Campus (wherever you are) | Live.WLC.Church or on our
  • YouTube channel
