Tim & Lisa work with Lutheran Bible Translators in the village of Shakawe in northwest Botswana, Africa. In 2022 they hope to publish a “Panoramic Bible” in the Khwedam language. They have worked among the Khwe people (pronounced quay) since 2007, and first had to develop a written alphabet for their oral language (including “tongue-clicks”). They now work with local people to improve literacy for their translated works from the Bible.
Tim was as a volunteer missionary with the LCMS for one year in Slovakia, teaching English as a Foreign Language at the Lutheran High School of Tisovec. Lisa was born and grew up in Papua New Guinea, where her parents were missionaries. She returned to the States at age 17, to attend college. She later served three years as a volunteer missionary in Slovakia, where she met Tim. They now work with local people in Botswana to improve literacy for their translated works from the Bible. Their family includes their two sons, Aaron and Andrew. They regularly see elephants, monkeys and other wild animals around their home!
