Passage: Ecclesiastes 2:1-11
Living in a world which consistently tells us “do whatever makes you happy” can allow us to think that life is all about chasing our desires, or making ourselves happy. But Jesus has called us to something bigger than ourselves. The vanity in Solomon chasing after pleasures, comes not from “feeling good” but from a self-indulgent, self-serving attitude. As disciples we are called to “live decent lives for all to see.” So, we clothe ourselves with the presence of Jesus Christ, that our lives would point others to their need for him.
