Passage: Deuteronomy 18:15-22

The Lord promised that through Moses and others He would raise up leaders among the Israelites, that would speak His truth while human leaders stumble and fall, Jesus comes to be the Ultimate Leader, bringing the full power and truth of God to us.

Unifying Phrase: Faithful leaders remain faithful to Jesus.

  • The Lord has taught that He would raise up leaders to shepherd His people.
  • He also is quite aware that false prophets will show up and try to lead Israel down a path of idolatry.
  • YHWH harshly condemns all preachers, teachers, prophets or disciples who teach a different message than His own or misuse His ministry as a means to a different end than the forgiveness of sin.
  • Jesus calls his church to raise up leaders so that disciples would be multiplied in his name.
  • The greatest call of every disciple is to remain faithful to the Gospel of Jesus.
