Passage: Luke 18:35-43
There is a big difference between hearing someone and listening to them. Our world is filled with endless noise that we hear, but how often are we actually listening? We are quick to speak, seeking assertion over understanding. Jesus’s interaction with the blind beggar reveals a deep love for his neighbor as he asks an intentional question that reveals his desire to listen to and understand the needs of this man. In order for our neighbor to feel loved, they must feel both listened to and known.
