One of the most hotly debated topics in Christianity is Jesus’ second coming and the end times. Even before Jesus died and rose again, his followers were eager to know about the end of the age. Over the last two thousand years, several different views have developed. Generally speaking, being aware of and giving attention to the end of this age is a good mindset to have. But not every way of thinking about the end times is useful or helpful to us as we follow Jesus here and now. Before we journey further into Jesus’ words in Matthew 24-25, we need to learn how to think about what Scripture says about the end times.
